Membership

CAHSC is a membership led organisation with membership of a range of people from across all areas of the Adult Social Care sector who wish to improve outcomes for vulnerable adults.

It is important that our membership includes people in the adult health and social care sector from:

  • private sector organisations
  • independent sector organisations
  • voluntary sector organisations
  • statutory sector organisations
  • organisations large, medium and small
  • care, support and health providers
  • learning and development providers
  • commissioners
  • people who use care services
  • and their carers

Anyone committed to CAHSC’s charitable object and aims may become a member.

  • Membership may be individual or corporate.
  • Membership is free.

CAHSC’s Aims:

To achieve this object, CAHSC has adopted six aims.

CAHSC will:

  • Promote the human rights, equality, diversity and social inclusion of vulnerable adults in Cornwall.
  • Support those who deliver adult social care services in the independent, private and voluntary sectors of adult social care to identify the learning, training and development needs of their workforce. An appropriately qualified and skilled workforce will be more stable, skilled and qualified, and therefore deliver better outcomes for vulnerable adults.
  • Work with training providers to identify, develop and promote, high quality, accessible, effective and affordable learning resources, which will have a positive impact on practice.
  • Influence local, regional and national strategies, which impact upon the adult social care sector to ensure that the needs of those who work in Adult Social Care are recognised and given appropriate priority.
  • Maximise funding for learning, training and development in adult social care and ensure that such funding as is available is distributed transparently, equitably and according to the terms laid down by funding bodies and that it results in improved outcomes for people.
  • Work in partnership with other services for the benefit of those who use adult social care services in Cornwall including health services.
