'Workforce Development Employer of the Year'

The winner of this award will be an organisation that has demonstrated an outstanding approach to the development and support of their staff and volunteers. The judging panel will be looking to see that the organisation demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying and meeting the training needs of its whole workforce and promotes a culture of continual learning and development. They will have an excellent approach to recruitment and induction and will support all staff and volunteers to embrace their own personal development journey. They will be responsive to changes in regulation, legislation and good practice.

'Learning and Development Provider of the Year'

The winner of this award will be an individual or organisational learning and development (training) provider who has demonstrated that they provide high quality learning and development which makes a significant difference to not only the learner but also their organisation, and most importantly to the people that receive care and support services. They will have demonstrated that their learning events are accessible, engaging and support the individual learner to reflect on their own learning and encourage and support them to embed that learning into their practice. Their learning events will demonstrate an up to date knowledge and/or experience of the learning topic and they will have an open and responsive approach to evaluation.

'Excellence in Leadership'

This award is sponsored by disAbility Cornwall & Isles of Scilly.

There is strong evidence that those organisations that are well led are most likely to achieve the best outcomes for those that they provide services for. The winner of this category will be an individual, at any level in an organisation, who has demonstrated outstanding and effective leadership in their organisation. They will be individuals who act with integrity, work well with others, lead services well, are continually looking to improve services and who recognise, support and encourage all members in their staff teams. They will be passionate about working in the adult social care and will set the direction and contribute to the development of a vision for their organisations.

It is open to people who work in a residential care or nursing home setting. The judging panel will be looking for evidence that the individual or team has gone beyond what might be routinely expected of them and is someone who is highly regarded by the people they care for, families and/or by their colleagues.

'Home Care Worker or Team of the Year'

'Hidden Treasures Award'

The winner of this award will be an individual who is highly valued by their care and support organisation. They may be hidden, working behind the scenes, but they are critical to the delivery of great care and support services. They could be the administrator, receptionist, cleaner, cook or maintenance person.

'Best use of Technology in Care'

The winner of this award will be an individual or organisation who champions the use of technology to provide better care. This new award category is open to all forms of technolgy, from using VR, robotic companions or Smart Speakers to bring joy to service users, or using digital systems for care plans and medications to provide a more effecient and safer service. We want to celebrate all the digital transformations taking place in care.

'Community Based Organisation of the Year'

This award will acknowledge and celebrate the often unseen work of community based adult social care organisations such as Memory Cafes, Day Centre's and community groups. Often a lifeline to many adults in our communities, these services provide an opportunity for individuals to remain in their own homes or communities. The judging panel will be looking for evidence that the organisation has gone beyond what might be routinely expected of them and is highly regarded by the people they provide services to.

'Volunteer of the Year Award'

Volunteers underpin many care and support services in Cornwall and without them some services would not be delivered. This award recognises the valuable role of volunteers within our communities. The winner of this award will be an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution in their role as a volunteer and who has gone above and beyond what might be routinely expected of them.

'Unsung Hero Award'

It's time to shine a light on your care and support hero! We want to celebrate and show appreciation to those special people who make a positive difference to you. This could be a carer and support worker, a friend, a neighbour, someone in your community – anyone that is a hero to you.

'Proud to Care Award'

The winner of this award will be an individual or organisation who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the positive promotion of the care and support sector in Cornwall and/or has inspired and motivated others to understand more about working in the sector and to consider it as a career choice.

'Outstanding Contribution to Care Award'
